About

I actually started out in a very different field and came to Europe from New York City in 1981 to audition as an opera singer. As I needed a ‘day job’ I found myself in an adult ed class teaching English as a foreign language. I was lucky that the institute I worked at offered a course on ‘Teaching Adults’ which proved to be a wonderful basis to build on. Over the years teaching has become a vocation and I now consider myself to be an ELT professional rather than a performer. Although I still sing occasionally, I am busy teaching at university, working with corporate clients, holding teacher training workshops, presenting at conferences, writing materials, continuing with my professional development and working within the international ELT community through my involvement with IATEFL and IATEFL BESIG. I currently live and work in Graz, Austria.
